Why is it when I click a chord the notes on the piano are not the normal fingering for the chord they are an inverted form,
So how can I get the chords to be the normal chord and not an inversion.

Press the 1 key after clicking the chord. Also works in the progression editor. Other inversions with 2,3,4, ...
Automatic inversion depends on the pitch range setting of the instrument.
Did you update to 2.7 already?
