Independent chord instrument track

Posted

Normally the whole arrangement is dictated by the chord progression ... is it easy possible to add a chord track independently of the master chord progression?
Example:  i do want  add some piano chords ( as contrast ), unrelated with the master chord progression..how to do this..

Hello, janamdo,

have you noticed the paragraph "Superimposition and Polytonality" in the manual? I admit I haven't tried this feature myself yet, however, maybe the "Layer" parameter is what you are looking for...

Best regards,

You can use the layer function for this if you like.  For example, if you have a progression with a C chord and you add a manual layer it will give you Layer 1, also with a C chord.

Now in the layer, you can type in any chord you wish in the Superimposed Chord box.  For example, if you type in D, your base progression will play C and Layer 1 will play D at the same time.

Is that what you're trying to achieve?

Yes , that could be a way to play independent chords from the master chord track .. maybe a more direct way is to make a absolute symbol track , like for example with a drumtrack what is not affected by harmony.
I thought there was a "chord abstraction" feature for chords who are not dictated by the master chords ?
