Duplicate Engine instances when restarting following crash.

Posted

This occurs with either 1.8.5 or 1.9.

When restarting Synfire after an AudioEngine crash there are duplicate instances of the modules on the Global Rack.

If some plug-in crashed the Engine, it is sufficient to just restart the Engine and Synfire will re-populate it with the plug-ins previously loaded. You can restart any Engine on the Audio tab of the Audio & MIDI Setup window.

After an Engine crashed, Synfire might need to wait for a timeout to expire before it gets responsive again (e.g. when the Engine happened to crash in the middle of a call from Synfire). This can take up to a minute, depending on the type of call that was interrupted.

There shouldn't appear duplicate modules in the rack, though. I'll check how that is even possible.
