Auto-Chords is found on the Interpretation parameter. You can recall a template for that too.

The boxes seen in the Harmony parameter are not chords you could hear. They are merely a guide and set of rules used by instruments that want to render music. So if you want to hear chords, you need an instrument to do that. Either with the Auto-Chords feature, or by setting chord symbols in the Figure parameter.

Here's more on that:

ohwwwww that makes me sad.How difficult is it to put that feature of hn2 in  synfire....now i have to figure out how to place a chord in that figure...so the next question would be,if i make a harmony. and with figure i place a chord so that i can hear it ,Then export midi files.and open it in reason,,Wil it place the different chords in the correct order....If i don't make a figure (other question)..but only make chords in the pallet i can hear those chords play also the basline...cvan i still export that midi data,,,of is there no midi data when i don't use figure

thanks for the info

Auto-chord interpretation : you don't see (sustained) chords in a track , but if you drag and drop the harmony parameter slot on the figure parameter slot ..you get the real chords to see on the track ( in Synfire ).

Sustained is i think how long a chord will sound : say  if i use a 2 bar Cmajor triad chord in  the progression, then it sounds for 2 bars.

now i have to figure out how to place a chord in that figure

Check out the Example Phrase Library. It is full of phrases with different renderings of chords. Just drag them to your instruments.

Auto-Chords actually is a gross simplification for convenience only. There is little music out there that plays sustained chords all the time. You will almost always want some rhythm and dynamics added to the chords, which is what Figure gives you full control over.
