So just the question came in another posting to change certain measures.
I wanted to ask for a "logical editor" or "transform editor" anyway, so I add it here.
There was this kind of editor for example in the old atari sequenzer Notator SL.
It was possible to choose more or less every parameter and connect it in different ways to any other parameter.
For example you could rise any tones longer than a quarter note and louder than 112 velocity and placed in the bars 2 to 100 an octave higher. Or delete them. Or give them less velocities minus 10 or so. Or a combination of theese things.
good for all kind of things, drums f.e. You could lower too loud bass drums in the beginning of the bar, but keep the wished loud ones in the end of the bar. Endless Possibilities.
Prinzip ist to allow the combination of at least three or four parameters as defintion and to transform them into a result with also at least three or four parameters.
Very important in that respect was the possibility to have a total free choose of the bar or measure definition.
F.E. a jazz standart form of 32 bars 4/4 could be shown as one bar (!) with 32 x 4 quarters, which allowed globally changing for substructurs of that big bars. So f. e. you could lower the velocity of the last two bars globhally, when reaching the tonic for all chorusses of that 32 bar form.
Endless possibilities also.
Synfire already allows a lot of combination.
This kind of transform editor would synfire help to follow its philosophie again much moore, to allow the total free combination of everything with everything.
If there is interest, I can describe it moore in detail.

We have a similar approach for parameter arithmetic already, but it did not make it into the initial version of Synfire Pro, because it still requires a lot more time to develop and refine (probably a year at least). It was postponed until a future version of Synfire Pro.
