I have two chords - Bb and a Gm . I tried to take a D whole note and drag the length across from the Bb measure to the next measure which was the Gm. However the D note won't sound in that second measure unless I draw another D note . Basically I want two whole notes tied Across two measures. Why would it not sound since the D note is part of each of those chords? Why would it be this difficult .Do I have to set the voice leading different?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks Keith for your input. If I turn the auto split off it will hold the D note through the chord change. I don't like the idea of keeping the auto split off.I tried using the hold button in the phrase editor but that did not hold the note through the change. If I draw a note for each measure and then click on the tie button it will work. That would make it difficult if I should want ,lets say , four quarter notes in a row later on .With the tie button on it just makes it a whole note. It still doesn't make sense why the D note won't hold through the change. I guess I need some kind of understanding of how this program interprets it.

Thanks Andre, but shouldn't that D note hold through the Bb to Gm chords anyway. If the program interprets voice leading and D is the common tone of both chords why wouldn't it sound the D note instead of cutting it off. To my way of thinking I should not have to go into the phrase editor and click on hold for a common tone note. Just for some understanding can you explain why this happens.
Thanks,Joe

You are right. The D note should sustain.
In case it's just the length of the note that gets shortended: I found a bug today that occurs with "experimental features" enabled. Due to an issue with the Chromatic parameter, notes can get truncated while the auto-split is in process. This is fixed now, but you would have to wait for 1.1.5.
