That sound is from the MS Window's builtin GS Wavetable Synthesizer. If your DAW can play it, you can use it. Otherwise you are out of luck. The exported midi file does not contain audio signals, just notes.
Best ask other users of your DAW how to do that.

i found a way to get GS Wavetable Synth in my Sonar X1, but it sounds like piano, even tho on the midi clip, it is labelled as GS SynthStrings 1. also, the bass midi clip is silent.
as for assigning vst instruments to a midi channel, how does that work? i am looking for that instrument sound that is in HN. how do i get such an assignment in my DAW?
thanks.

In the midi track, go to the last drop-down menu labled P (patch) and select . See attachment (red arrow marked).

i tried the set-up in sonar. to get sound, i need to output the data to a synth, right? i assume it's TTS-1, as i see in there are those patches shown in your picture. doesn't seem to sound quite the same as in HN for some reason.
am i right about using TTS-1?
thanks.

Hi,
You can use for " GS sounds"also a VSti
Look at the virtual sound canvas (VSC)from edirol, perhaps has edirol (ROLAND) also a second GS vsti?
You can use the default device description in HN2 for this to assign the sounds to the VSti
You can load this Vsti in your DAW and must use a loopbackdriver to connect HN2 with the DAW.
Let me try this out too..
Look at this thread to know all about setting up sounds in HN2
https://users.cognitone.com/content/connecting-hn-vstis
It seems to be not working the default device description for the VSC (virtual soundcanvas)..so you must make your own..for that see the link to the videotutorial and the advised workflow.
The next step is to use a not GS vsti in your DAW and assign sounds as a replacement for the "GS sounds"
