Can someone please explain the pro's and con's of working in Song mode vs. Arrangement mode?

Synfire Pro has both windows available. However, the song window was included as a goodie for switchers from HN2 only.
I would not use it, because the arrange window is way more powerful. The song window is no more than a stripped-down arrangement. If you like the automatic duration handling of song sections, just enable "auto sectioning" for your root container.

You have to activate the option "Reveal experimental features" in the preferences settings. Then you can access to the Song Window of HN (eventually after a restart of the program) with New>>Song.
