I think it is not a bug , but somewhere in your setup steps you are missing something.. i tried to get the setup recorded video in licecap, but it is not working for now I try later to make it working the video and post again, than you can record in Kontakt i am sure !
You are using kontakt 4_ 16 -out ?, wel it must be working for all versions i think
It is a tough to master the soundassigning in SFP/E , but once understood you can forget the hassle as soon as possible
i installed kontakt 5 and i could recording with the nano 2 keyboard..so look good to this video ..especially dragging the soundname to the soundcategory ( needed by Synfire )
Now it must working

OK this is working! .. i made a HAlion4 setup , because i don't use Kontakt HAlion 4 and Kontakt are both samplers, so if you do this in Kontakt 16 or 8 it like i did for HALion4 it must be working too in Kontakt.

Well, I'm not an expert with Kontakt, I use it almost never. But what I can say is that the second and third picture (insidekontak.PNG and kontak1.PNG) look fine for me. That looks pretty similar to my setup.
The MIDI options menu from your first picture (inputskontak.PNG) is only available at the standalone version of Kontakt and is therefore irrelevant when you have hosted Kontakt at the Synfire Engine.
It must be something else. Have you checked, if the channels of the Kontakt instruments fit to the channels at your Device Description?
Janando I get this message when extracting the zip file. I am going to see If I can add some more virtual instruments to test synfire with other plug ins.

Thank you Janando I see the halio set up. I am having no problem replicating creating racks for vsti. I just created another one, but still no recording is possible.
I am beginnig to look at the folders in the hard drive.
Here I am sending a clip of where the vst folders is.
I am able to record now using internal GM synth but only if I am not using sounds from shared racks. I am using at least one plug in. I am no longer able to record.
Andre and Supertonic please see what you can do to assist in the solution of this problem.

Yes Soundcase, I have tried the nano when is connected to the standalone kontak and when is not. In both instances I get no recording going.
I will run one more test though

I made a short video. It only shows that recording with Kontakt works for me, so I'm not sure if you will have any benefit from the video.
I don't have a NanoKey, so I had to use a different keyboard. But I think that should not make a difference.

I am now reexamining Kontak standalone to see if the problem is there.
I am sending this shots of the midi inputs and outputs in standalone kontak. Does this have an effect when is used as plug in in synfire?

The software I use for making gifs is Licecap (Janamdo also use that I think).
For making Youtube videos I use MS Expression encoder (for recording and cutting) and MS Movie Maker (for editing). All are freeware.

I do have all vsti in [harddisk]/Program Files(x86)/Vstplugins =32 bit and [harddisk]/Program Files/Vstplugins =64 bit
Than you must give the paths to the kontakt Vsti in SFP in the audio engines ( for 32 bit or 64 bit )
Has Nano key a 64 bit driver as you maybe use a 64 bit Kontakt version ?
