Silly question I know as I've done it before but can't remember how. I want to insert a guitar solo in an arrangement so I created a new container for it. But I can't remember how to add the guitar instrument just to that container? It seems to add it right at the beginning of the arrangement.

Yes, if you add a new instrument it will be availabe in the whole arrangement (i.e. in every container). If you want that it plays only at one specific container just enter a figure only to that container.
If you don't want to see the instrument at the other containers (where the instrument shall not play) you can use the minimize button 'm' (minimizes empty instruments).
