Hi Andre and the Synfire community
i recently bought a custom pc running Windows 10
Synfire Pro cannot find the VST plug in for Vienna Ensemble Pro
i tried to add the plug in but cannot seem to find the proper path!
I am a OSX person and I am used to my MAC just finding my software and assigning the proper paths and folders
i tried the Steinburg folder , but there is no vst plug in for windows that I can find.
Can someone please help?
Thank you!

You might have two steinburg folders, one in the program files and the other in program files (x86). The first contains all your 64bit programs and the second the 32 bit ones. Make sure the path to search used by the synfire engine matches the 'version' (32 or 64 bit) of engine you are running. I think the 32bit engine needs to find the 32 bit VSTs and the 64bit version the 32 bit ones. Not sure if that helps as I dont use Windows for music making.

Sorry for my late reply, Richard. On Windows, there is no standard folder for plug-ins like on OS X. First you need to find out where VEP installed its VSTs and add that directory to the search path in Synfire.
The dialog for editing search paths opens when you call the scanner from the Audio & MIDI Setup window under the "Audio" menu. As blacksun noted, you'll need to add 32 and 64 bit folders separately.
