Changing interpretation+apply creates duplicate figure?

Posted

Somtimes when I change the Interpretation, say to Input for harmonizer after the phrase has been recorded I get a duplicate figure, the original and the one the Interpretation creates and then I have to go in an select and delete one of them.

Sometimes it doesn't happen, and I just get the figure created by changing the Interpretation settings and hitting apply.

Anyone know how to control this?

Most of the time I just want the new figure but I can't make out why it sometimes creates a new figure on top of the original.

I assume you are redoing the figure recognition on a partial selection in these cases?

Due to the different segments that individual settings create, some of them may overlap with already existing segments in your figure. This leads to duplucate notes/symbols. I have not yet found a safe way to avoid this. It's on the list.

Useually it's when I change from whatever Synfire decided for the symbol type to another symbol type and when I hit apply I have a figure for both the detected symbol type and the symbol type I changed to.

For example from horizontal scale ( horizontal scale blue) I change interpretation to static pitch for harmonizer (static pitch yellow) and hit apply and then I get both.

Haven't checked this out but wonder if the overdub setting has an impact?
Is its a display bug, does switching to a different instrument view then switching back fix it?

I don't think it's a graphics error because I can select the duplicate symbol figure and I get the preview playback and everything on selection.

It must be some combination of what I'm doing that causes it, because most of the time it doesn't happen, just trying to figure out what exactly is triggereing it so I can avoid doing that.

I just tried right now just recording something and chainging interpretation parameters and of course I can't make it happen  :toobad:
