Creating a Device Description by Extraction

After watching the video "Creating a Device Description by Extraction" I tried this with Omnisphere. I tried both Engine and Engine64 and both crashed as soon as I selected "Extract…" This did not seem to generate a crash report since Synfire was unaffected.

Try both VST and AU versions. Also try with plug-in editor closed or open while scanning.

The extraction procedure does nothing violent, just sending MIDI bank switch messages and program changes and reading the plug-in's program names, which is a standard procedure of the VST and AU interfaces.

Strange enough ..the  soundmodule Halion 4 is not accesable for scanning..no device  description to extract?  :-?

You can't blame Cognitone for Steinberg not fully implementing their own VST standard ;-)

Ofcourse not, i realized already that it has to do with Steinberg .. i shall go to support of Steinberg and asking if they can improved Halion 4 on this point.

If you read my post ..it is not offensive against Cognitone, it is more a conclusion.
