Hello Friends,
I am running Cubase 12 Pro and Synfire Pro 2 (latest). With Cubase 12, we lost rewire.
What is the way to configure transport control between Cubase 12 and Synfire Pro 2 ?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Without rewire support in the daw, you have to resort to virtual midi cables. These are built in on a mac but on windows you have to use something like loopbe. It is no longer sample accurate in timing but limited to the resolution of the midi clock. This was how synfire orginally had to link to a daw and midi cables have been used to drive external synths from a daw or even a master keyboard for an eternity.

Before synfire switched to rewire I used to use loopbe, there is a single port version that's free for non-commercial use and a 30 port version too.

On a mac you can just use the virtual midi that's built into macos

It seems that I've found a way that works without rewire, it was this particular setting in Synfire: Stream - MTC that made it possible, also in Cubase Project Sync - Activate external sync checked + MTC, nothing else set anywhere else in Cubase Project Sync settings tab . Also, in loopmidi I had to make a second channel Loopmidi1 that was set as MTC between Synfire and Cubase, since Loopmidi0 was only receiving signal from Cubase, but not from Synfire, but Loompidi1 was starting to receive data immediately from Synfire, too.
