My laptop's power jack is broken and I need to deactivate my installation of HN to transfer it onto another computer, but I'm confused by the process: is deactivating HN the same as "Discard as lost" on the Licenses and Installations page?
Also, my installer looks like it's specific to Windows Vista. Does this mean that the same .exe won't work under Windows XP? (Or, later on, Windows 7?)

Deactivation is temporary, i.e. you can activate again on the same hardware. Discard as Lost is permanent. You should only use that for hardware/OS combinations that you will no longer use.
The installer runs on either XP, Vista or Windows 7.
