divisi track for violins

Posted

I do have a track in synfire with two symbols ..the upper symbol is for violin 2 and the lower symbol for violins 2
How to assign two violins to this track --divisi ?

Just make two identical tracks for vl1 and vl2 that only differ where you want to have the violins play divisi.

Thanks

So i must make out of the divisi track..two new tracks for each of the violins then.

I assume you meant one was for violins 1 and the second for violins 2?

make a copy of the existing track. on the first delete the volin 2 notes on the second delete the violin 1 notes

assign the appropriate instrument/sounds to each track

beware of playing ranges or the low notes might get shifted up in pitch if this isnt something you want to happen.

Anoher way, select all the lower notes and change them to say a bass symbol. Use the menu option that spilts a track into mulitple tracks based on the symbol types (theres a tutorial vid about this). Then change the symbol type back and change the instrument sound on the second track.

Thanks, yes violins 1 and violins 2, O that's gonna be a problem......... because the symbols are grouped

Anoher way, select all the lower notes and change them to say a bass symbol

What video ..there are many ?

i made a track to get a melancholic feel with the divisi violins 1 and 2 , but my arrangement differs from the original ( this famous american composer uses a better soundlibrary )
I forget the dynamics (mp,mf,pp)..draw the relative volumes.

Adjustment for tempo and volume

I got this from a lessonscore and extract midi from it ,but get not the same quality as from the original
Time to make a bigger arrangements...

Yes sounds good he, but is made by a serious composer!, i made a out of a score a midi with smartscore X2 Pro( i have used the "secret composer" learning tools : composition moods)
Because it is described how this piece of music is made, you get a better understanding and store this in a library in a  folder for instance: secret composer lessons
The lessons are installed on my computer and with two screens i can read and try to compose further in Synfire

To understand the cognac ..you must read the lesson from "secretcomposer" and i for me i must have in the library a section for lessons from different sources.
