Does anyone have experience using a library rack?

It might be useful in combination with  kontakt vst .
Suppose I have set up a number of sounds in Kontakt , then it would be easier to set up some sound variations.
I also have Halion 7 with all its sounds.

For reference:

Library Sounds

With Synfire Pro, a library can have its own rack of sounds, just like an arrangement. This allows you to collect phrases along with their originally intended sounds. When you drop such a phrase onto a track, Synfire will ask you whether you also want to copy the original rack module to the arrangement rack. This greatly simplifies the task of building an arrangement from scratch.

I haven't made use of LIbrary Racks yet myself.

I typically start with an empty template that has a populated Arrangement Rack, or I copy an existing project and clean it out to start a new one, leaving the Arr Rack in place.

To the extent possible, I want to use multi-timbral fixed sound devices so that I can swap out the entire soundscape just by changing presets in the plugin.  Thus, a single rack module gets me up to 16 sounds/instruments to work with.

As a practical matter, my projects will normally use a number of rack modules - to deal with drums separately, to allow mixing of synths with different characters (e.g. Arturia and U-He), etc.    So far, it has not been a concern of mine to have Sound and Figure wed together and saved in a Library for exact reuse.   Quite the opposite - I'm always looking for new, never-heard combinations and serendipity.

It would be interesting to hear from someone who makes extensive use of Library Racks.

The wizard adds sounds to the library rack when you assign one to a phrase pool. When you add phrases to a library the sound is copied to its rack too unless you decline. It is not necessary to manage a library rack manually

"It is not necessary to manage a library rack manually"

Does this mean that Synfire assigns its phrases to its own sound library?
But this is nothing new, it was already known.

Yes, if you are constantly looking for and applying new sounds, a fixed library rack becomes unworkable.

I only want to save phases from a fixed source, so library racks could be useful for variations of the original sound.

Other phrases are simply listened to via Synfire's own standard library racks.

Suppose you give the custom library rack 16 piano variations, something like that, but you are stuck with a certain VST.

It could be useful to be able to assign 16 sound variations to a custom library rack, provided I always use the same phrase source that also applies these sounds.

With 5 or 6 tracks via the custom library racks, you can already create enough arrangements and expand this with additional tracks.

Since I use GM midi files anyway, there is no point in creating separate library racks; it is sufficient to use the standard Synfire library sound assignment.

A global rack with a multi of, for example, Halion 7 with sound variations is much more convenient.
