Does bounce works for 64 bit audio engine ?

Posted

I try to make a wav file in Synfire 64 bit , but i made some triggernotes for chords
I thought that synfire convert this audio with bounce ?

I reassign in HALion5 ready made chords from a sound ( program) under a  triggerpad to a keyswitch in HALion5
Than controlling the keyswitch in Synfire in a figure by adding a symbol for the rootnote of the chord(s) in order to try that the chordprogression is under control of synfire by adding the same chords in a progression.
I am here experimenting with how to to use the ready made chords in HALion5 and want to record the audiouotput

Because Synfire cannot handle open chords?.. all imported open chords are reduced to closed chords , what gives a loss of musical expression

example 1: this open chords are programmed in the phrase editoe

http://soundcloud.com/janamdo/violins-mysteriousmood

example 2: this open chords are imported as a midi file ..all chords are reduced to closed chords

http://soundcloud.com/janamdo/from-mysterious-mood-score-mid

Sounds less the chords here, but maybe more volume makes it better..

Is there no improvement possible for open chords in Synfire  ..or do i miss something?

I made another classical arrangement, but the bounce function is there also not working for 64 bit audio?

=====================================================================

But i do have problems by composing this piece, once imported a pianoline as startingpoint for a stringorchestra ..i must work in different octaves and the phrase editor is not easy to use because the middle line shows not the octave number.

Than constructing a contrapunctal line is be difficult when the violin has a high register and a violin a lower register ..
Comparing the both..the violin line with the viola line for contrapunctal similarities and additions
Perhaps first alone the symbol positions without length as startingpoint for contrapunctal in Synfire ?

Or the possibility to have a startline as background in the new to make contrapunctal  line ?

Classical composing is all about manipulating lines and working in the phrase editor means that you must work on the lines there ( and not outside ) and transpose.

Dificult to build up a classical composition by a score example..what workflow and what can Synfire more off
er for this in the future ?

This is classical composing and not only import a classical midi without knowing what you are doing.

Is it not possible to add a vertical pointer to get some anchor notes for some tracks for contrapunctal composing what steps thrue the measures ?

Classical composing is all about manipulating lines

Yes, and this is how it works:

A single figure can include multiple lines (made up of segments), each assigned to one of the 3 playing ranges. Transpose the playing ranges to achieve open voicings. If you need more voices or more ranges, or if the voices are too close to each other to edit, you must add a new instrument (staff) using the same sound. You can assign that instrument its own ranges.

The middle line has a different meaning for each playing range! If there are 3 identical segments, assigned to the 3 ranges, the middle line has a different meaning for each of them. Always keep in mind: Figures aren't notes.

Thanks André !

This needs to more explanation with a practical example ....

Is not handy to have a dedicated pointer for contrapunctal lines ?

HAlion5 has a lot of premade chromatic chords and in what key are these chromatic chords ?, i start with c chord under the trigger pad ..so these chords dictate the key in Synfire ..or it must be abstraction chords , but they are not part of the musical AI

In Cubase it is no problem to use chromatic chords in combination of  using with a diatonic scale ..i think, but that is not the case in Synfire

I made a chord and try to make this open, but what symbol to use for this .. arpeggio or chords ?
A imported midi makes from the open chords a arpeggio figure, so i use then the arpeggio symbol for open chords?

It seems that the open chord not can be grouped when i assigned each chord note to a different playing range ?--> no different playing ranges ( 3 ) anymore.

Also with this how to handle chromatic (chromatic scale: # and/or b used) open chords when i use a diatonic scale ( no # and b )?
I do want to make a random open/closed(combination) chromatic/diatonic(or combination) chord in Cmajor..how to do this ? .. any imaginable chord...woow

Live chord detection?.. a made a block chord in Cmajor with the rootnote in the lower playing ranges the third note(second note) in the middle playing ranges and the top two notes in the upper playing range --> what live chord detection ..can i analyse this chord for chord type too ?..it gives a Cmajor triad chord, but is is a seventh chord.

If i can construct the live chord on the keyboard..why not bring this into the phrase editor ?

I could try for a open arpeggio chord: allow accidentals (fractionals)  button, but there is no + or - sign for the new position of the chordtone to see in the phrase editor , when i add in the parameter inspector a chromatic value..or draw this open chord.

Suppose this will work than you must do something with the interpretation settings too, when you do have a diatonic scale ( no # and/or b ).

Chromatic open chords how to get this working in the  diatonic scales in Synfire or in any random scale ?

Chords need not be in the same group. Chords are just notes sounding at the same time. Instead of grouping chords vertically, you can also group counterpoint lines horizontally. They still sound like chords. This is the only way to write an open voicing across multiple playing ranges. The import can not do that automatically, unfortunately.

Chromatic open chords how to get this working

If you need chromatic chords, your progression must include them. At least the vertical scales must include the notes you want to hear.

Suppose i do want to have the melody in Cmaj and adding a chromatic chord in the progression, then i select in the progression editor:

Horizontal scale : C major and as Vertical scale C chromatic then i  get a Gb chromatic as a horizontal scale.., but the global key for this measure ( i choose one measure in the progression) is C major..while the horizontal scale is Gb.chromatic.

Then i must be capable to add random chromatic chord? ..horizontal  scale is Gb .chromatic and global key is Cmajor , but only for this one measure?
In the phrase editor i do have 3 open c triads and in measure 2 i chanced the vertical scale ( read here above)..in order to be able chromatic symbols, although i could also add a chromatic symbol in measure 3, but this wil be not hearable then, because the horizontal scale is c major ( diatonic = no # and/or b)

Although the rootnote is always the same whatever scale you choose..is this a pleasing hearing progression with the chromatic open chord in measure 2 for special effects ?
I must do a remake ofhttp://soundcloud.com/janamdo/violins-mysteriousmood

It is a little bit confusing the thread here, because i mixed the topic unintented... contrapunctal lines open (chromatic)chords with open  (chromatic)chords for one instrument.

I just imported a midi with sustained open pad chords in the static mode ..

This is the only way to write an open voicing across multiple playing ranges. The import can not do that automatically, unfortunately.

Sounds like the original, but when i do a figure recognition from the pad track..the whole original pad chord feel background is reduced to something unrecognizable compaired with the original.

How to preserve the original pad background in Synfire after import ? ( i did for this track a static import) --> i must rebuild this pad track in Synfire ?

Synfire makes life of a open chord lover not easy  :|

The bounce function for audio engine 64 bit is still not working.. :-?
What is wrong here ..

Import does not (yet) recognize parallel melodic lines in different playing ranges on the same MIDI track. You need to build them from individual figure segments as explained above.

Or disable "Abstraction" for the recognition settings. This will use the green symbols instead of the purple ones. These preserve the pitch distribution of a chord, albeit not the melodic movement between the chords.

If I remember correctly (can not test currently), you need a MASTER module on the 64 bit engine's global rack to make bounce work. The tooltip of the bounce button should include that hint.

In this arrangement there are no parallel melodic lines..
There's a master rack installed for a limiter, but the tooltip on the bounce button says that  i must use the same engine for all instruments--> what is used here.. a 64 bit engine for all instruments
The bounce knob is not functioning yet.

MUX vst is monophonic synth assigned to 4 channels each  for every instruments and one channel master assigned to  MUX FX

I made 5 global racks, but perhaps it is better to start in the arrangement screen : AUdio engine-->new plugin
On this way i should only load one instance of MUX VST synth and add 16 ttracks as needed ?

2 global racks or 5 global racks for setup does it matter for bouncing ?

I see also that  did not assign a few soundcategrory to all racks, but the arrangement is to hear
Can this be in the way for bouncing ?

i just tested the 64 bit bouncing with HAlion5 64 bit and a master track for one channel with a instrument in the arrangement view.
No 64 bit bouncing possible ... can this be fixed ?

Do you think i can make open chords with this settings ?

Finally could make a bounce in 64 bit

Effectrouting in Synfire is not clear for me, for the pianosound there is a stereoecho send (aux) and a reverb .. i could not get this two effects on the piano (only stereoecho and reverb is missing )
As example i used MULab5 --i like there the rackidea with the effect routing, but could not yet get the same effectrouting in Synfire by handmade effects for the instrument (modulair enviroment)
It is a try this dream of piano..and notice the pad background with open chords ( not transformated during import )
