Drawing mode

Posted

hello all

I'm a bit disappointed by the drawing output in the arrangement mode.

The way the drawing binds to the grid is not very very precise.

For straight line it works very well, but for freehand mode it is quite approximative, especially for back and forth curves.

Would there be a way to improve the way the canvas binds to the grid in next releases ?

We plan on improving the way the phrase editor works with respect to drawing and figure editing. The technical underpinnings already work fine, but the user interface still needs a little work.

The more details you can provide regarding what exactly you would like to see, the better.

Actually, drawing seems to be time-binded, linear.

I was thinking to the possibility in freehand mode to draw figures independently of that linearity, so one could draw not only monophonic but polyphonic lines whatsoever the direction one is drawing, like a real canvas (for example, drawing circles or other kind of complex figures, back and forth and so on).

thanks

I thought that a script could allow to convert any polyphonic blue figures into chords / green figures by example.

This way, one could draw backward and forward while preserving the integrity of the drawing, which is not the case actually.

Necessarily such script would split up the drawn segment into as many segments as there are different chords.

It's my fault, i didn't care about the ctrl option in drawing mode.

Also a zoom already exists, though it stretches the phrase mostly vertically.

Edit: well, ctrl only for straight line.

Drawing mode is good, once one is at a good scale for working.
