Extend a figure

Posted

If I had a container how is 12 m long and I insert a new instrument and I insert from imbedded library a drum part how is one bar or two bar long. Is it an easy way to extend the drum part to the length of the container? With the new update 2.0.4 it seems that the copy funktion with figure don’t work as expected!

The drums part should repeat until the end of the container it is in, no matter how long you make it.

If you want to append another figure at the end of the drum figure, drop it at the end. Maybe I misunderstand your question, though.

Yes, I know the drum part repeat to the end, but I want to insert some notes before the next container, so I have to expend the drum part to the end of container for do that. I found it take long time to copy bar for bar, I don't know if I do it right because some time it is not possible to copy. Perhaps it skould be some repeat copy function so the curser moving to next bar automatically . There are some other improvment I want to have with the work flow but I will wait to later when Synfire is more ready.

No need to copy bar by bar. You can put another nested container into the container where your drum part is. Place that new container at the position, where you want to add the notes. Then make a snapshot of the drum figure. After that procedure you have physical symbols in the nested container representing the looped drum part which you can edit.

This is the workflow as mentioned by @Juergen
Note: the drum pattern is outside the rootcontainer in order to see the nested structure
