Hi I wonder if I use an external hardware synth like Motif or Montage should I use fixed channels, 1 Channels multiple program or 16 channels multiple program when I made a new device?

  • If you synth has no presets and can only play one patch at a time, or set non-changeable patches on each channel, fixed channels
  • If your synth can only play one (midi channel)patch at a time, but can switch patches (presets) then 1 channel multiple programs
  • If your synth can switch between patches on multiple (16) channels then 16 channel multiple program
