How to Make Imported Bass Sound Higher

Hi,

I have a set of .mid files I'm importing Bass from, and getting results like this:

This both looks and sounds very low - too low.

Why is this anchoring around -7.0 ?

What can I do either at import time, or to the Library after import to raise all the pitches to a more appropriate (i.e. higher) range?

More simply, how do I make the Bass import "right"?

Check the lower playing range of the sound you assign and tick the "Transpose" box in figure recognition

Also, not meaning to be redundant if this is already understood, but the Import is a batch job, yielding many Phrase Pools each with many Phrases.

I need to get this right for all-at-once, not just for one phrase/chunk at a time.

If you use the All Same setting for batch import you can assign a sound and setup FR for each instrument in advance. These settings are kept with the resulting phrase pools.

The Transpose switch will transpose Take by octaves to match the target playing range of the sound you assigned.

I don't see, literally, 'All Same' anywhere.

Could you tell me (or show with a picture) where to look for it? (or is that not the actual text?)

Sorry, it's "Identical Track Layout" (confused it with "Same For All Tracks").

The default bass range of every instrument category is usually workable in most situations. If you select a sound for a track to import, check if the lower range is ok. If not you'll need to fix that in the device description that provides the sound (if you want to make it permanent).
