how to use synfire with FL Studio 9?

Posted

trying to get FL studio to run as a client in Bidule, Audiomulch, Cubase, Live. it works to varying degrees. the main problem is that the vsts in FL wont accept midi from the different channels in synfire. anyone have any ideas. would be greatly appreciated. Synfire works great with ableton but ableton has so many crashes its hard to use. thanks.

Not answering your question but Live 8.2 is reported to be stable.... (I'm not a Live user my self though).

I agree managing midi channels in hosts is no fun. Some of my VSTi's even have their own setting of midi channels with default to channel 1.

I don't have a copy of FL Studio 9 available. However, I think if you run it inside another host that receives MIDI from Synfire, it is likely that you lose all the separate port information and get all MIDI sent on a single port to the inner plugin.

Can FL Studio also run standalone? If yes, I would try that.

i tried running FL inside of bidule and it crashed with every attempt. i am having a problem routing in cubase. i can get midi in to the vsts but it is all the midi from all the tracks in synfire. when i change the midi channel there is no change. can anyone offer any ideas. i wish ableton was more stable. synfire and ableton are a great match.
