Import only one track from midi file without having to individually deselect others?

Posted

Is there a fast way to only import one midi track from a midi file with many midi tracks? The default is for "Import track" to be selected for every track. This wouldn't be so bad if I could select them all to de-select "import track", but ctrl+a doesn't work for "select all", there's no "select all" shortcut in the Synfire manual, and holding down shift doesn't let me select multiple tracks at once to deselect "Import track", so I haven't found a way to do it without clicking on each track to deselect "Import track" which is time consuming when there are many tracks (for example 16 just now... though it could easily be far more).

I generally create a new instrument and choose import from the figure's context menu.  That only allows you to import one track, and you probabaly didn't really want to create a new arrangement anyway.

Thanks! Phrase (on the top bar, or alt p) -> Import lets me open a midi file but will only select one of the midi tracks, as desired.
