Manual Scan, Please

Posted

Hey I have been using ElectraX from Tone2. It is my favorite synth, but the scan funktion in synfire can not scan more than one sound (The sound/preset loaded in the plugin). I can scan the sounds/presets one at time, and save it as a bank but with only one sound/preset in every bank. it works perfect when im change the bank, but it would be nice if I could make it work as it was sopose to. I have also trying to scan one sound and then use program change to move to another preset, but I have problem with the bank change. Would it be possible to make a funktion in Synfire, so I can load one preset in the plugin and manually scan one preset, move to the next preset in the plugin and then scan it to the next preset in synfire? @Andre, I would apresiate if you would download the demo of ElectraX and see if there is anything you can do to make it work?

Supplying the list of program names (or: preset names) on request is a standard function of VST and AU protocol. Most synth-type plugins support this and most sample library-type plugins don't. It is the responsibility of the synth developers to support this function. I cannot do anything about it.

Although, you may have more luck trying the VST version of the synth rather than the AU version. I've seen a few synths that did only supply the list in VST mode.

You should ask the developer to support this VST feature. It's not difficult to implement.

hey

I am not a programmer so I dont really know how to describe this for the developer, so how would you describe this, so he know what I am talking about?

It's theĀ getProgramNameIndexed function (VST) andĀ GetPresets function (AudioUnit).
