MIDI Drones in Cubase saved as template

Posted

Hi Juergen

You made a videotutorial and used "instrumenttracks"opposite "miditracks" in this tutorial, but how to export the midi to Cubase?
Perhaps you can shed a light on this issue ?
I try to setup a template in Cubase for using mididrones...
In the present Synfire i don't see how to export the midi from synfire to Cubase when i use a midi drone attached to a instrumenttrack or a miditrack and then also for monophonic or multitimbral Vsti

Ok it seems that can make a working Cubase template with a export midi for a multitimbral Vsti!

Probably is this not working for a Cubase instrument track  ? (  i tried and tried the one for a miditrackin Cubase..and this is working).

Thanks Blacksun.. now i could get a clear picture of it, with  your help and ofcourse with the help of @Soundcase who started with the idea of a building template.

I started also with making a Cubase template for Cubase instrument tracks working Synfire, but there is no direct midi export(dragging) for these type of tracks...so they are useless for Synfire
All external/internal Vsti for Cubase can be used as midi tracks in Cubase ( why i should use instrumenttracks in Cubase ..ask myself )
Ok solved this Cubase templare issue...time for music further!

No i could not get the same template setup working..so i forget the templates setup.
The idea is to work with Drones in Cubase ..setting up a arrangementfile and a cubase file ( a ordinairy projectfile..no template )

I an earlier Synfire version i must relocate the HAlion Vsti to Cubase ..how about this in the latest version?
It boils down to setup ordinairy drones ( no transient drones) in Cubase..how does this work

Better is to work the other way around ..relocate form Cubase to Synfire ( this is also possible? )
If i load a Vst Halion multitimbral permanent with a  midi drone and  relocate this to Synfire.

The ideal workflow is that i setup my HAlion5 sounds in Cubase as multitimbral midi drone and can chance the sounds in HAlion5 whatever  and that there is connection with Synfire ?

How can i see when i relocate to DAW  to Synfire or when i relocate to Synfire to DAW ?..ok when the Vst are in DAW then i relocate to DAW and when VSTi are in Synfire i relocate to Synfire .

The switch Midi drone on the global rack with a drone is not ticked..so the VST i are on the DAW and Synfire is relocated to DAW.. ok this is the setup now and recorded 2 tracks, but i cannot export the midi from Synfire to the DAW ( what's wrong here? )
The 2 tracks in Synfire with a Drone assigened are burning green clear..i can open the global rack with the device description ( two sounds on fixed channels in HALion5 )
No colored warning here

Then i should say there is something wrong with the drone setup ? :  i assigened a cognitone drone in Cubase and add a midi track to it  , but how about the midi routing ? for the HAlion5 multitimbral synth
Must i assign Cognitone midi out  as input routing when i choose midi channel 1 and output routing : Cognitone drone -midi in ?

Dragging Midi to Cubase means that i relocate the Vsti also to Cubase ( condition for dragging the midi ?) , but there are no Vsti in synfire in this setup
Or must i load a HAlion5 also separated in Cubase with the Synfire midi drone in Cubase ? and install Vsti in Synfire ( condition for dragging midi to Cubase)
Now i can drag the midi to the existing Vsti in Cubase and relocate Synfire th eVsti to the already existing Vsti in Cubase

Well this setup with Cubase and drones relocate to Synfire and dragging midi later to Cubase seems to be not possible
Is there a Cubase users who can this setup working?

Yes, the output of the MIDI drone must be routed to the input of your instrument track, where you have hosted HALION:

Thanks Juergen

For this setup i must assign for every cubase  track a drone and and a HAlion Vsti ..it is not multitembral
A lot of work .. ?

It seems that i can setup arrangement rack drones and global rack drones

The arrangementdrone setup is multtitimbral ..so how to setup this in Cubase exactly ? ( and it is only for one arrangement )

Better is the globalrack drones, but this seems to be not possible with Cubase ?
