I have Synfire Pro for about 9 months now and I have barely used it. The reason for that is because I feel it's not supported with video tutorials that should show you all types of scenarios of using different tools and also the right tool for each one of them. I have read the manual several times, but I haven't still found my answers.
I have a specific question. Let's say I have some midi files with progressions and I found one that I really like. After I'm importing it into library, it doesn't sound the same anymore, even though I am changing different parameters. Is there a way to leave the midi file as it is, and still recognize its harmony correctly?
Also, I have a problem with Native Instruments Massive. If I load it into a project, every time I open that project, the sound presets are reseted to init. This might be a Massive issue, since the "save as" and " save" options for those presets are greyed out. The presets from Nexus 2 or SynthMaster 2.6 are kept in the project's memory, though.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the solution for Massive ?

Did you extracted a device description for Massive Vsti in Synfire.. or is there already existing one..but extracting via the soundsetup is also possible
These difficulties were over when Synfire is updated.. for you i think ( i hope : ) )
If there is no automatic soundextracting assigning possible with Massive you must assign for every midi channel a fixed midi channel for a sound by hand.

You want to import the whole midi file as static.. Later on you can perform and analysis of individual tracks.. When you import the whole midi track as static,, it should sound exactly the same as in your DAW; provided you have your sounds set up properly.
What I did, and I recommend; is keep a note book or open text file, and write down your problems and questions. As you explore further you'll find the answers.. Search backk thru the forum posts, or ask your question here. We all started new at one point.
No doubt about it, SFP is a complicated beast. but worth the effort. With the new version coming along, things should simplify somewhat.

The user interface is currently undergoing a big change. After the update, many new videos will be created. If you can tell us a bit more about the scenarios you have in mind, these will be considered. There are hundreds of them and it is difficult to address them all.
Regarding Massive, please check if your device description includes program changes or custom controllers that may reset the synth. Or you may want to add these in order to make shure the synth is in a defined state.
