Next Synfire update will require macOS 10.13 or newer

Posted

Apple raised the minimum deployment target to macOS 10.13 (High Sierra). We had to update our developmement machines to Ventura today, which made it impossible to support older versions of macOS from now on.

Long story short, we will no longer be able to build Synfire for macOS 10.11 and 10.12. In theory it would be possible by keeping outdated development machines, but that would make things increasingly difficult in the long run.

If you can't update your hardware to High Sierra or newer (i.e. if your Mac is at least 13-14 years old), you will have to stay with Synfire 2.2.4 Build #7.
