non-exclusive solo

Posted

Would be nice to have non-exclusive solo.

Many times I need to listen to say a piano part and I often do chords and melody on separate instruments set to the same sound, now when I solo I can only hear one of them because solo is exclusive so I need to flip to my DAW to solo the keyboards buss or go though muting all the other instruments in a cue (Not viable because I often have 50 or more when writing for divisi instruments)

Sometimes it's not even possible to just solo a buss, because the instruments I need to isolate is in separate groups, for example French horns supporting Cellos and I need to hear them isolated together.

Hi Ken,

Try CTRL+clicking the solo's for the relevant instruments in Synfire.

Haha, sometimes we can't see the forest because there's a bunch of trees in the way.

That's exactly how it usually works in my DAWs, and I didn't even try that

Sweet :)

Yes , is a problem in Synfire because not all menu items or functions are documented.
It looks like a box with tricks ....clueless

Suppose you do have 10 instruments opened..close them all ?

Go to a instrument triangle with your mouse cursor and double click on it  + (holding)Ctrl  .. all instruments will be closed
