Non-Realtime Building of Arrangements from Snippets

Posted

Hi.

Another potential way to leverage snippets  -

I'd like to suggest the possibility of being able to make a long set of successive clicks in the Snippet Matrix with the result that all the snippets clicked on, in order, are placed into the buffer (as-if you had actually played them - but you did not) for being built into an arrangement.

IOW, the option to build an arrangement from snippets without actually having to take the time to play them back.

For example, I make 20 clicks in the SM and it takes me 20-30 seconds, and I can have an arrangement as the result.  This instead of having to actually playback those 20 snippets and take 5 minutes to do it.

For that matter, being able to do the same thing with complex snippets in a library would be equally (or more) useful.

Of course, this would just give us an arrangement consisting of long set of 1x snippets in a row.  That is exactly the point.

Repetitions or lengths would then be determined by further editing, either using existing capabilities, or possibly new ones if necessary for maximum productivity.

Acknowledged, thanks.

I do think this would be quicker though.  <g>
