Hi there,
Is there a way to have Synfire display in one window, rather than several floating ones?
I am on a mac so its easy to click into another application by accident.

Currently not. The issue is that a one window layout would render many helpful workflows impossible: Opening a couple library windows at the same time, for instance, is great for managing and sorting out phrase pools (drag & drop). Moving parameters across multiple arrangements and phrase editors is done very frequently (copy & paste or drag & drop).
Much of the power of Synfire results from the ability to throw together fragments from many different sources. It is possible (and easy) to compose something entirely new and refreshing without even recording a single new note.
