Problem with non wanted legato

Posted

Applying step from instrument A to instrument B seems to force legato in instrument B, when the symbols are drawn and when interpretation is set to monophon.
This is not the case, when the midimaterial of instrument B is imported.

I hope I described it understandable.

When you apply Step to a figure or during hyper editing, the note lengths are stretched or shrinked respectively to maintain the proportion they had in relation to each other. This might lead to the impression that a legato was applied (when you shorten the step widths).

I'm however not sure whether I really understood your question.

Yes.
And if I do it monophon, than only one note after the other is played.
And, when the step gives staccato notes, the instrument is playing staccato.
So far it works fine, unless the notes of the instruments where the step is applied on, are drawn.
In that case the result are legato notes, although the step gives staccato.

So draw some notes in an instrument, 8ths and 16ths, apply a step with staccato on that instrument and set it to monophon. The results are legato.

I hope I was more succesfuk now with describtion.
