When Syncing Synfire & Ableton, When I press play in Synfire it starts Ableton But when I press Play in Ableton Synfire does nothing? is there a way to make this go both ways, I find this most fusterating - Thx ;]

Unfortunately it would never work the other way round, because Synfire is not a time machine (it can't start in the past in order to provide the DAW with MIDI notes ahead of time).

I have an idea for a solution (not the time machine, though), but no ETA yet.

Thats odd. I often rewire apps to other apps and it doesn't make any difference at all

in which app  I press play. Would be interesting to know why that is.

Synfire must stream MIDI data to the drones in the DAW ahead of time. It can only do so, if it starts before the DAW.

It's not impossible. Synfire could send the first bars of music down to the DAW every time you make an edit, so it sits there already when you start play. This would allow the music to play immediately, but the transports will still run out of sync. Synfire will always be behind the DAW.

Tricky.

I configure Synfire's remote transport commands for my Novation master keyboard's transport keys and use that when editing in the DAW.
