I'm sorry to hear that. This should not be neccessary.
Please feel free to keep asking, if the initial reply from support did not solve the problem you had. Your last request was almost a year ago. This makes us assume your issue was resolved.
Also you may want to update to 1.7. This may fix a lot of things.

I get latency whenever the midi thru decides to work, due to me only being able to use GM or soundfonts,I want to try the Mac version and see what happens. I am almost certain it would be a better experience.
Synfire works wonderwell together with HALion 5 or HAlion Sonic 2 ( you get this free when you buy HALion5 ) Asio for all is a free asio driver with low latency..you can try that. There is now also a mac version for HAlion5..
Halion5 has a GM mode and once you make a device description for a General Midi rack in Synfire ( a multi timbral setup) you can use high quality GM sounds in HALion5. Also easy is to make a fixed sound rack ( not multi timbral) .. you name it :)
Synfire became much userfriendly now for the soundassigning compared with some years ago ( very difficult for me ) without the (sound)racks.
Cognitone is a very small business and doing their utmost best, coupled with the ongoing development..it seems to be impossible for them to deliver a manual what describes all in full detail with tips and hints It is a problem for me also, because it is difficult how to see some features are intended to use..
Absolutely no complaints from me. The support has always been courteous, very helpful and (usually) very prompt. Even when I ask silly questions (quite often as I'm still a beginner!), I always get a sensible reply.
You have to remember also that Cognitone is not a massive company with a team of support personnel waiting for support requests. Therefore sometimes you just need a little patience. In the meantime (as you say) there are plenty of users who try to help if they can. This is indeed a great place to be.
Thank you for the interesting link. I start in Cubase, there is no rule on how one goes about making music I guess! I use a standard DAW because it's familiar and most of all it works!!! I can use full feautres in Cubase, garageband,Logic with minimum issues, because it was designed for that,it's very inspiring to fire up a piece of software and everything is there in a simple, logical format. Not having to set this and that and figure out this and that and wonder why this and that is not working properly. In Synfire you are basically on your own after paying that Stack!! No one says it but, I am honestly dissapointed with the support SNF,users have been more helpful than the actual company itself. I guess that's the price you pay for a quality, unique product ,the magic transformations of SNF keeps me from getting irate. Lol... I wish I could start with Synfire at times for idea generation.. I get latency whenever the midi thru decides to work, due to me only being able to use GM or soundfonts,I want to try the Mac version and see what happens. I am almost certain it would be a better experience.

Yes, i know BOGSIE777 it is not really interesting my composing efforts on Soundcloud, there are lot of others there who are much better then me.
I try to come up with a new composing approach and focus more on modern tunes.. with more controlled sounds.
