Short question: Numeric Entry in Lenght Parameter

Posted

Hey all,

The numeric values for the Lenght Parameter:

Are they based on PPQ (Pulse Per Quarter)?

If so I 'd like to know under which PPQ Value Synifre operates,

so that I can use the correct numbers. Haven't figured out that yet myself,

however it doens't seem to be the standart 480 or 960 PPQ that usually all DAWs use...

EDIT: Sorry guys, made a mistake... it *is* 480... Figured it out myself...

(If anyone is interested in this: It makes numeric entry pretty easy and fast.

It lets you also read any type of event list in DAWs like DP, PT, Logic and Cubase easier...

but you have to know the midi base resolution on which the DAW operates...

For example: Synfire is based on a 480 PPQ Resolution, so entering  in the lenght field...

- 120 gives you a 1/16th note lenght

- 240 gives you a 1/8th note lenght

- 480 gives you a "quarter" :) , which is of course a 1/4th, and therefore the base resolution of Synfire.

- 960 gives you a 1/2th note lenght

- 1920 gives you a 1/1th note lenght

This is also helpful to know if you want to use the shift parameter

and in some other cases as well...

Best,

tL.
