Smart Phrase preview

Posted

Hi Andre
i was already ask for preview phrases through selected track / instrument
and also i got the good news from you.
first part of my question is :
may i ask what is the priorities of this feature in your agenda ?

and second part :
>> preview without stop the song?

also options to choose how to preview =

>> select preview's interpretation type
(right now i am importing Phrases to my HN2 library with 3 versions 1Bypass, 2Weak, 3one of the presets that close enough to phrase's type..its takes time but very useful to me)
- transpose
- start with bar
- half / double speed

this second part i don't know... maybe totally irrelevant to concept of Synfire...
they are just ideas as a FL Studio + Reaper user
because i know the benefits of this features on the Audio side ... simply huge time save .

Best Regards
Yıldırım

It's not top priority at the moment, but I see its value and will have a look when I get around to it.

preview without stop the song

Yep, live loops like Ableton. The architecture below does not support this well. A song is rendered and then played back as a second step. Re-rendering portions of it while it plays is not currently possible (except for loops). I don't say it could not be done, but it is certainly not trivial and there are urgent other things that need to be done first.

I 2nd that preview phrase library with current instrument as an option.  Sometimes you want to hear what a new instruement might sound like.  Other times you definetly want to hear it as a selected instrument.

Can/and  how do you change global instrument?  Maybe global instrument could have a switch, Use currently selected instrument in arrangement.

Also can you change the volume of the global instrument..  Apple did something weird with 7.3 (at least on my machine) any  GM midi files come thru at 1/10th their former volume.  I have to jack my system up to max. (a lot of hiss)  Sometimes the phrases are too soft to hear compared to music.
