Suggestion about workflows

Posted

A lot of us appear to have different workflows when composing with synfire. Some more efficient than others but most are comfortable with how they do it and have probably picked up some nice habits and shortcuts that others could benefit from.
After re-reading a discussion between janamdo and myself about workflow used to produce a song ((https://users.cognitone.com/content/finished-latest-track-lost-memories)) I realised how difficult it is to both explain and understand each others workflows.
Now outside of synfire world I follow a group of producers on Facebook that have developed an interesting way around ths. I think its something that we might benefit from here in synfire land....the idea?

When you are working on a tune, record/video what you do. It's not a tutorial so you don't ave to talk or explain anything. In fact making it a tutorial s banned in the face book group.

What we have found is that videoing it tends to focus your mind and you send less time wasted on looking for the perfect sound etc...also by watching other people's videos you can find out new ways of working you would never have come up with on your own. It would also help Andre decide where to take the product.

Lastly its very easy to change it into a tutorial by some editing and voice over editing.

What's everyone think?
