Synfire and blue cheese

Posted

The first time I ate blue cheese, I remember gagging and forcing myself to finish the piece of bread on which was spread the off-white-greyish-mushroom-laden substance loved by so many. I didn't want my friend, an older man of great refinement, to think I was a difficult eater.

Needless to say, some months after that evening, I curiously found myself yearning for some blue cheese. So I bought some and ate it all the same day with great enjoyment. Somehow, my body had learned to appreciate the taste by its own, with time. I have had this experience with other things than food, Synfire being one.

Last year, at around this time, I tried the Synfire demo for the first time. I played around with it, but never got to understand how it could answer my composition needs. I got discouraged, because it seemed at the time an overly complex tool with not enough documentation and help. However, I kept visiting the Cognitone forums, and followed the Synfire's progress till about two weeks ago. I asked André if he could extend my demo trial, which he did. Yesterday, I did a very easy four bar composition with Synfire, and created a shared rack with Kontakt 4 instruments.

What I did was so simple, yet Synfire allowed me to make this little insignificant piece of music something that felt really good to my ear. Like blue cheese, Synfire made its way to my heart without me noticing it. I am hooked, and will be buying the software this very evening. Cognitone has made something that goes beyond anything I could have possibly imagined music software wise. I thank you.

Lastly, did any Canadians order Synfire, and if so, how was the shipping? I had my share of problems with customs here and would very much like to avoid any if possible. Thank you for reading!

I had no trouble with customs, shipped it UPS I believe. Arrived within a few days.. UPS just passed right thru US customs, don't know about you're neck of the woods..

I think Customs are looking for nuclear material, or amounts of drugs, not going to waste their time on a CD/

FedEx does all customs clearing in Germany already. It's the fastest delivery. DHL and USPS (or Canadian Post) may take a few days longer due to customs clearing at the destination country.
