Switch to the "Sounds" tab and add modules to the arrangement's rack. There you can load all plugins. The module will then appear in the menus and lists for sound selection.

Hi Andre,

I am finding quite difficult the start of Synfire Pro. I like to ask you regarding factory reset. Is there a factor reset button, where Synfire goes to brand new position.

The reason is I am trying to make Kontakt work on Synfire and often failing and not knowing to sort the problem. Ending up losing defualt setup of Synfire too possibly. I cannot hear the metronome sometimes for instance.

Lastly I cannot locate your default instruments too.

Kindly give me a feed back.

In the Audio & MIDI Setup window, do File >> New and File >> Save to return to a factory default global rack. That will also restore the five global instruments to their default settings.

Where do you get stuck with Kontakt?

Thank you.

I also like to know where I can select the Key of my choice before starting to record. Currently if I play and record in Bm Synfire Pro is recording in C Major. Can I make it to record in Bm from the begining. If so what shall I do?

Many thanks

Synfire assumes the key set in the current Harmony parameter as the default key for recording.

If the parameter is still empty, just drag a chord from the palette (preferably the tonic).

Hi Andre,

Thank you for the recent YouTube videos and Zoom chat we had recently. They have really boosted my learning curve of Synfire.

I like to ask you some bug I coming across; when I move the Bar at the bottom left and right the screen in the center where my work is done in Synfire gets blurred. It get better when I press Play button. I do not understand why and so I could not fix it myself.

Kindly see the attached pic for clear understanding of this.

That looks weird. I've never seen it yet. How is that blurring possible? Any unusual utilities running?

No, only Synfire, Komplete Kontrol S61 and web pages.

This is going on from the first day I started using it.

Hi there,

I also like to ask you how to setup Remote Transport Control with Transport of Komplete Kontrol S61. Learn button is not responding in my case.

Thanks

Komplete Kontrol needs to send MIDI controllers or note ON/OFF in order for Synfire to use it for transport control. Check if if appears in the "Inputs" list of Audio & MIDI Setup. If so, enable it for input.

Regarding the blur, are you using your monitor in native resolution? Or is it scaled?

What macOS version?

Fri, 2019-12-27 - 19:46 Permalink

Yes, I have did that.

Despite this it is making noise of the instrument I am playing when I press the Play, Rec, etc buttons. However, it never obeys how it should, meaning not playing, recording, etc.

Kindly see the attached pic for Inputs list.

macOS Catalina, version 10.15.2

Yes I am using two monitors; the main one is a SONY large TV, where it is causing this. It is scaled. The monitor of iMac Pro (2017) I use for note keeping when on Onenote when I compose music on Synfire.

For the S61 to be used for remote control, you need to setup the hardware to send MIDI controllers or note ON/OFF for the desired buttons. Those will be recognized by the Learn buttons in Synfire. I donÄt have a S61, so unfortunately I can't tell if and how that works.

The blur is from scaling of your TV. You would not see this on a full resolution Mac monitor.

I have the same blurry display problem.

I'm using a macbook pro 2019 with two external 1920*1080 monitors.

OSX 10.14.6

Thanks for confirming this. Admittedly, we didn't test with low resolution TV monitors yet, only with computer monitors. That is indeed a strange artifact that shouldn't happen.

Hi Andre,

Thank you for your help.

I manage to use Transport of my S61 now. But when I press the Transport buttons; like Play, Rec, etc I also hear the instrument notes with it. Like one high note of the instrument I am playing or recording.

Maybe you can help to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Maybe you can assign a different MIDI channel to the commands so they don't get mixed with regular keyboard input.

Notes are not ideal though. Using MIDI controllers is better.

You would assign a different channel to the commands in S61 (if possible), in order to separate them from keyboard input.

But I now realized there is no way in Synfire to filter input notes by channel. Therefore controllers (MIDI CC) is the way to go. Synfire ignores all controllers that are not mapped to any of its parameters during recording, so these are safe for remote control.

Hi andre,

Do you want i see you for the blurry screen problem via screen sharing (hangout / skype / or whatever ?)
I don't speak a very good english but it will be suffisant to let you understand this. (Moreover, i'm a professional developer. )

Thanks. I've got a low resolution monitor that also shows this artifact and will fix it for the next update.
