Thanx to Juergen and a suggestion

Posted

I would like to thank Juergen for his two videos he recently posted.  I would also like to offer the suggestion, that if it's OK with Juergen and Andre, his videos, (and hopefully more) get posted to the Repository.

Those of us here now, are learning about SFP by reading other's posts.  (I  periodically read the old posts, to see what I can pick up).  The videos will no doubt be of great use to future SFP and HN2 owners.  It would be good to keep these available, and not get buried under hundreds of posts and forgotten.

Hopefully I will become more sufficient and SFP and get a camera, or use the software to generate short videos of SFP concepts (what software did you use Juergen?)

I'm happy, if the videos have helped. For the repository, they probably should have a slightly better quality. Maybe Cognitone can produce a more professional version.

The software I use for making these videos is the Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 (the standard version, which is freeware).

Many thanks to Juergen from me too. I much appreciate the time you take to make these videos. Heck, I am stuck with preparing for the next series of videos for weeks ... just because I always get interrupted by more urgent coding tasks.

Mark, on the Mac ScreenFlow is the best screencast solution currently available. Don't know a freeware or shareware, but if I remember correctly, OS X Lion has a built-in screen recorder...

Jurgen: I found H.264 is the best compression with sharpest text. If your tool can create that format, you should give it a try.

P.S: H.264 is not available with the freeware - ouch. I think $199,- is too much for a video encoder. Send me a download link to your raw video and I'll try a conversion with ScreenFlow or ffmpeg.

The video resolution can be set to HD at Youtube. Sorry, I don't have the raw video files anymore.
