Posted

Since updating SynfirePro to verison 1.7.8 build#6 I've received an (TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2) Virus message by VirusTotal under Avira antivirus for file: "synfirepro.exe". VirusTotal Detection ratio(1/54). I've deleted file: "synfirepro.exe" and reinstalled 1.7.8 update. Synfire still runs good but rescanning "synfirepro.exe" the (TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2) virus message still exist. Has anyone experienced this problem, if so, did you get it fix. PS, the file: "synfirepro.exe" has been check by 54 antivirus programs in virustotal with Avira being the only one to report this virus. Some google suggest its a false positive. I'm not sure, need help!

The file SynfirePro.exe is digitally signed by Cognitone. If the signature is still there, it wasn’t modified by someone else and is virus free. You can check the signature with the file info box.   I suspect the sophisticated iLok protection to trigger this false warning. Nothing to worry about. Usually PACE clarifies this with the AV developers and it should go away after an update of the virus database.
