Why no save in the demo version ?

Posted

ok, I understand that it is a demo version.

But Synfire is a very big program with a lot of possibilities and a lot to learn... It is very annoying to start from scratch each time you wan to use it.

Beside what is the interest of disabling the save function, the demo version is only valid for a certain time, so after that, if you don't buy it, you can't do anything with what you've saved.

I can understand that you disable the export MIDI function in a demo version, but let us at least save the library and the arrangement.

Please :)

Hi Rony, welcome to the user forum.

I agree that saving would be helpful.

However, from other developers we have learned that time limitations have been hacked, online verifications simulated, working products assembled from code snippets that were taken out of demos and then shared on P2P networks.

This must have taken months to accomplish and we have no idea why on earth someone would want to put such extreme effort into this, but it certainly makes us paranoid. For the time being, the only way to stay safe in this regard is to exclude certain code from the demo.

We might eventually relax this in the future, but it will not happen anytime soon. At least not until we have an improved trial solution in place. I hope you understand.
