AUTOCHORDS - AUTOARPEGGIO

Hi All

With Autochords function you can convert into reality (sound) the harmony that you create.

Is there the function AutoArpeggio or AutoArpeggiator anywhere? I can not find it?

To transform into arpeggios the harmony or one progression of chords imported in midi file format or one progression of chords that you create with pencils (drawing) into figure.

Or you need to insert by plugin (third plugin) one vst or au midi arpeggiator?

For arpeggiator output you need to insert a figure using the purple [a] symbols that generates the arpeggio. There are infinite number of possible arpeggios, so no easy automatic here.

Check out the menu Playback >> Sketches >> Arpeggios. There you find a few examples. You can copy them to your arrangement, or to a library:

  1. Select arpeggio sketch
  2. Playback >> Edit Current Sketch
  3. Copy & paste phrase to arrange or library

There are also a few arps in the example phrase library.

The good thing with [a] figures is that you can edit their velocities (HyperEdit), lengths, rhythm, etc. Auto-Arpeggio could not do that.

Hi All

Supertonic thanks to your fast answer.

Yes;i know the symbol a is arpeggio on the toolbar but i was doing it wrong.

In the Phrase editor i selected the c (chords green) symbol,the pencil and i wrote a chord,then i selected the chord with segment tool and double click over the a (arpegio magenta) to convert the chord into arpeggio but nothing happened,i thougth that double clicking over the a the chord would broken in arpeggio,would sound like arpeggio.

Now i know that i must select first the a,the pencil and draw,then an arpeggio will be created.

-Then if i create a chord or import it by midi file is impossible to convert in arpeggio,broken and sound like arpeggio?

Hi All

Supertonic;I'm expressing myself badly,maybe because of the language.

I knowed what is an arpeggio.A chord is three or more notes sounding simultaneously and an arpeggio is those chord notes sounding successively.

My question is: I have selected in the phrase editor the c green and wrote with the pencil a chord of 4 notes (the picture with the green notes) imagine that those chord notes are  Cmaj7  C3 - E3 - G3 - B3 and if i play solo sound the chord with the notes simultaneously,is ok but in the second picture (chord magenta):

I Want to convert this chord into arpeggio,then i select the chord (in green color) and double clic in  a magenta.

The chord change its colour to magenta but if i play solo the chord´s notes follow sounding simultaneously,not successively.

What i do wrong?

i think you are still looking for the "Automatic" side of your question which is answered...
there is no auto arpeggio.
you have to use arpeggio phrases as in supertonic's example pictures...

converting just symbol types will not work

Yes. For purple [a] symbols, each line on the staff is mapped to the notes of the current chord in its current inversion. It's the same chord that would be played with Auto-Chords.

Rhythm however, is done by placing the symbols in any way you want.

What perhaps should be mentioned here is the command "Simulate Strumming", which shifts the notes of a chord to produce a strumming  or a glissando effect, which then can be transformed further (see Gif).

I heard your classical music on youtube and is very elegant;I like specially Bittersweet Tears,Mozart certainly would like

Thanx for the animated giff, although I haven't gotten around to create strumming yet.  I now can do it without hesitation.

 

I think some of your posts should be in create content, because they are valuable pieces of info.  

Or maybe you could put a tag like 'strumming GIF example'.  Although I haven't attempted to create a tag yet.  Posts with important information should be easily searchable. Just a regular search for strumming brings up a lot of posts, it would be great if one could search thru posts that contain full explainations or examples and aren't just asking a question

 

It would make life easier for everyone here.

I was thinking ... dangerous, I know ... that if the WIKI had an index, things like Juergan's tip could simply be linked to the post, so it wouldn't have to be posted twice on the site.
