how to merge figures from different songs with different rhythms?

I have 2 songs with completly different melodic rhythms. is there a trick how to align the rhythmic structure? the demo songs are mostly classical - I tried to create a funk song and its nearly impossible to get the figures of two or more songs to align rhythmically

is there a workflow or trick I am missing?

try stretching (whole phrase) to align with other rhythms

Or you could try Paste Rhythm from the Phrase window

Using the "virtual" Step parameter of the Figure (via Hyper-Edit) could also be useful.

I'll try this and make a screencast if I succeed.
