How much cost the update from HN2 to Synfire Express?

Ok , you think it sufficient 16 instruments.

Realize that Synfire Pro has 260 instruments at his disposal and Synfire Ex 16  instruments as i can see it now
Synfire Ex is not special developed for classical scoring, but as you can see together with Cubase you can use articulated sounds.

Probably it is a marketing strategy of Cognitone to keep this number on 16 instruments..the same a Harmony navigator 2 with his 8 instruments

Of course it is a marketing strategy: to find a price point and feature set that will induce new customers who are unwilling or unable to afford Synfire Pro.

Every software developer that offers a product line between entry level and full blown creation does the same.

I think Cognitone has made a very, very good decision which will enhance it's customer base by sales they otherwise would not have made.

The market will determine if their Express price point and feature set was a good strategy.

I think 260 instruments is like a DAW advertising 256 or unlimited midi and audio tracks. Yes, it can theoretically, but practically who would ever use them all? Cognitone certainly wasn't going to offer 259 instruments in the Express.

Reading the feature comparisons, in my opinion the number of instruments is the only practical significant difference in the two versions, as the other 'high end' features will appeal to a very small set of professionals.

Hi Etolia..thanks!

Yes, it looks enough for classical composing your pictures , but in Synfire Express is nothing possible (yet)

I aspect (hope) that Cognitone will chance this, and add a articulation feature like in Synfire pro

Maybe they will add some more asked features in the near furure, to make Synfire Express really a mainstream composer.
Capable of doing all sorts of composing.. modern music mingled with classical music.

Not only i can use a articulation feature for classical sounds, also for modern sounds has Cubase 6.5 articulated sounds.. xxl range

So we have to wait for this.

So, if I understand correctly, the old iLok still works for Synfire ?
