Is it possible to move a phrase forward or backward, i.e., to the left or to the right in the phrase window?

Is it possible to move a phrase forward or backward, i.e., to the left or to the right in the phrase window?

 

I understand how copy, cut, paste, clear and trim work.

 

I would like to be able to move the whole phrase (or a selected part of it) forwards or backwards in the phrase editing window.

 

I thought the left/ right keyboard arrows might do this, but they do not seem to move the phrase as the up/ down keyboard arrows do.

Works fine here... Set the number box to 16 if you want to move in 16th steps

OK ... I guess I misunderstood. I thought you said/ implied that it was difficult or inconvenient to change it while working. I'm still on HN2, but planning on SFE ... so I read all the posts.

 

What about 'zoom?'

Well, it's workable, but having a grid makes it easier to see if the containers are lined up. Without having to change the snap.

Why don't you try the demo ?

Moving a phrase inside of a container I do very rarely. Usually I make a snapshot of the phrase into a new container and then I move the whole container.

It seems some of these replies are from a Synfire request forum?

 

I want to know if moving a phrase is possible in HN2, not in SFP/ SFE

I'm still getting up to speed on HN2. I want to have that under my belt before I take a test drive. I have many, many midi files and I'm too busy making phrase. :)

Ah sorry, I have not realized that.

In HN2 I think cut/copy/paste is the only way to move a phrase within a song section.
