Semitones

Hi Andre.

Have you planned a more flexible handling of semitones (+/-) in the next version of Synfire? It is often frustrating to move up or down the notes and not be able to adjust the half-tones if not doing stunts with chords, anchors, interpretation...

You can use Shift + Arrow Key to transpose in smaller increments.

Usually, if there's a half-tone that's not in the current vertical scale (which is required for it to play), you are in a different harmonic context. The solution is to find out the context (key, scale) that corresponds to what you hear in your head.

If the half-tone is in the scale but won't sound anyway, then voice leading is getting in the way. Although VL offers different strategies, it can't possibly match all situations, so you might need to disable VL for that individual segment.

Correct. Usually everything resolves by modifying the harmonic context, but sometimes it's really hard. Fortunately I discovered recently the following presets of the interpretation parameter

that most often solve the problem quite effectively.
