'Unsnap' paint brush tool in figure editor?

Posted

Is there a way, preferably key stroke, to 'unsnap' the paint brush tool from the grid in the figure editor?

Ideally I'd like the note to snap to the onset of the grid, but be able to draw it as long as I want ... even ending between grid settings, i.e., if the grid was set to 1/8th, be able to draw a 5/16th note.

I also wish, wish, wish Santa would bring me a tool setup like in cubase where you hold control and a little box appears beside the tool as you are using it, where you can select a different tool, release control (option) and change the tool on the fly while you are working.

No, not yet.

Many graphics software use CTRL or Command key to unlock the grid. Maybe that would be a good idea?

The tools will be reworked anyway. This is a very important part of the software and a big challenge to do it right. It is high on the list.

Yes, exactly!

Glad to know this feature is on the development 'road map.'

Thank you.
