Logic Pro Crashes on Startup

Author cognitone

Problem

Logic Pro version 10.7.9 crashes on startup because of a problem with the ReWire bundle. This was observed on macOS Ventura 13.6 but is likely also an issue on other versions of macOS.

Cause

ReWire has been deprecated for a while. There have been no updates to the resources provided by Propellerheads Software in a long time. It is inevitable that newer versions of macOS and Logic will eventually run into problems and no longer support ReWire.

Remedy

Remove the ReWire bundle from your Mac. Move the /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire/ReWire.bundle to the trash or put it aside in a separate folder for now.

Next time you install Synfire, make sure you disable the option to install Propellerheads ReWire.

Synchronize with Logic Pro using MTC.
